It’s 90 degrees. In October. Time for Scarves!

Ugh! Can you believe this weather?! I can’t. Summer won’t let go, and it’s 90 degrees outside. Still, it IS October, and that means we are gearing up for another scarf-bombing season….our sixth!

We hope that you have been making handmade scarves during the spring and summer to get ready. Be sure to take them to one of our drop off locations.

In preparation, there are few events we’d love to see you at. Be sure to respond if you are coming on the appropriate events’ Facebook page. Have you liked us on Facebook? You should!

  • October Tagging Party: Come on out to Kegel’s Produce and help us tag items to be put out for scarf-bombing!
  • October Scarf-Bombing: We’ll be at San Juan Bautista Preschool to put out scarves.
  • Sit and Stitch: We’ll be meeting in the center of Park City Mall to knit and crochet, chat, and watch the mall goers. You don’t have to craft to come. Just come on out to introduce yourself.

That’s what is going on for October. Fall needs to hurry up and get here!

Black Friday Events Special!

Well, Thanksgiving is over and Black Friday is upon us, and we here at WUP hope you got some great deals today!  In light of this day, we want to have a Black Friday Events Special, or just really let you know what’s coming up with WUP in the next few weeks as we all prepare for the holidays.

November Tagging Party

Our regular monthly tagging party will take place on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Kegel’s Produce in Lancaster at 7PM.  Please RSVP on the Facebook event page so we know you’re coming. You can get directions to Kegel’s Produce there, too.

November Scarf-Bombing

This month’s scarf-bombing will be taking place at the Lancaster Public Library at 7PM on November 28, 2017.  We will then be heading to the Columbia Presbyterian Church in Columbia, PA, USA afterwards.  Come for either one, or come for both, but please RSVP on the Facebook event page so we know you are coming.

Ewebiquitous

Ewebiquitious is a knitting shop in Lititz, PA, USA, and is doing a great project to collect scarves and other handmade cold weather items for WUP.  They are encouraging people to bring in their items to decorate their Christmas tree.  All items will them be donated to WUP.  Here’s more from their Facebook page:

Ewebiquitous is partnering with local charity The Wrap Up, Project this season and we need you and your skills (any skill level is welcome)!

Instead of ornaments and tinsel, we’ll be decorating our Christmas tree with your handmade donations of hats and scarves. Every single item will go directly to The Wrap Up organization to help warm a local person in need through the winter.

We will be accepting the donations between November 18th and Christmas–start now so we can fill our tree with warmth (and create a beautiful window display)!

Head on over to their Facebook page so you can learn more and get started in getting that tree covered in scarves!

We hope your Black Friday shopping has been productive.  We also hope you are doing well on your holiday crafting!  Best wishing, and keep and eye out here, on Facebook, and on our mailing list for updates.

February Scarf-Bombing

February may be warm, but the weather can change.  It’s still winter, after all!  That’s why the Wrap Up! Project is having their February scarf-bombing on February 28, 2017 Reservoir Park in Lancaster, PA, and the it’s off to Columbia Presbyterian.  Meet at the park at 7pm. See the Facebook event to sign up and to get more information.

In the meantime, keep up the awesome work with creating scarf for WUP.  We have received so many donations in the past month!  YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

February Tagging Party

Yeesh.  It feel like spring outside.  Is that going to hamper the Wrap Up! Project’s efforts?  NOPE!  It’s still cold in the evenings, and the weather could change on a dime.  With that in mind, we’re gearing up for our next scarf-bombing by having our February Tagging Party on February 27, 2017 from 7pm-9pm at Kegel’s Produce.  Bring a snack to share!

As usual, we will be tagging items for the next scarf-bombing, and many hands make light work.  It’s a great social event, too!  We’d love to see you there.

Let us know you’re coming on the Facebook event page.  We hop to see you there!

January Events

I’m sure we can all agree that the weather has been relatively unpleasant lately, with it being all cold, and sometimes rainy.  That’s make what we do here at The Wrap Up! Project all the more important!  Speaking of getting ready, here are a few January events that that we need your help with.

Tagging Party

The next tagging party will take place at Kegel’s Produce on January 26, 2017 from 6:30pm-9pm.  The more hands we have there to help tag, the quicker it gets done.  Bring along your current project and we’ll socialize, too!  Sign up here on the Facebook page for this event.

Scarf-Bombing

The next scarf-bombing will take place January 31, 2017 around the Lancaster YWCA.  A need for warm items has been expressed for that area, so we’re going to step up to the challenge and meet there.  After we are done in Lancaster, it’s off to scarf-bomb the Columbia Presbyterian Church, as is usually the case.  Let us know you’re coming on the Facebook page for this particular event.

That’s what’s happening with WUP in the next few weeks.  We hope to see you at one or both January events!  The more help we have, the quicker it goes, and we have a good time doing what we do, too.

Upcoming December Scarf-Bombing!

Ack!  Where did this month go?  Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no scarf-bombing in November, BUT…the next one will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA at 7pm.  We will then head on over to Columbia Presbyterian Church afterwards.  Check out the Facebook event for more details!

All of us at The Wrap Up! Project want to wish you and your family a happy, safe, and WARM Thanksgiving!  We appreciate and are thankful for all of our awesome volunteers, drop off businesses, crafters, EVERYONE who has supported us for the past three seasons.  We can’t do it without you, and we are so happy with the way this endeavor has grown over.

Happy Thanksgiving!
